Learn how to make Taco seasoning mix with just 6 staple ingredients! This easy homemade Taco seasoning is onion-free and garlic-free, but loaded with flavor!

Often times, store bought taco seasoning can be packed with undesirable ingredients like sugar, dairy, starch, and preservatives. It can also be hard to find seasoning mixes that are low FODMAP friendly. So why not skip the fillers, and make it at home with just a few ingredients you probably have on hand? Luckily, this homemade taco seasoning is formulated without onions and garlic, but loaded with flavor to spice up your next Taco Tuesday night!

What I also love about making seasonings at home is that they can be easily modified to suit your preference.

Want something milder? Cut back on the chili powder!

Want an extra kick? Add some crushed red pepper!

You can even go lighter on the salt or go completely salt-free. The possibilities are endless!

Homemade Taco Seasoning

Learn how to make Taco seasoning mix with just 6 staple ingredients! This easy, homemade blend is onion-free and garlic-free, but loaded with flavor!
Yield: 1/4 cup

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (optional for more heat)

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients to a small bowl or jar. Mix or shake to combine.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to six months.

Notes

You can easily double, triple or quadruple this recipe to make a larger batch.
